WHAT IS A UNIVERSITY PREPARATION (UP) COURSE?

In accordance with the curriculum guidelines of the Ontario Ministry of Education, in Grades 11 and 12 at any inspected school in Ontario, you must choose from among workplace preparation, university/college preparation, college preparation, and university preparation courses to develop your pathway to your destination. A university preparation course provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to meet university entrance requirements. UP Courses emphasize theoretical aspects of the subject and also consider related applications.

As an inspected school, OIC is authorized to offer Grade 11 and 12 University Preparation courses based on the rigorous provincial curriculum policies of Ontario. These UP courses are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to meet the entrance requirements for university undergraduate degree programs.
